Santo Sospir is the name of a villa inhabited and decorated by Jean Cocteau, in the Côte d'Azur. With his series, photographer Mauro Restiffe was able to capture the dreamy atmosphere of this place and the ghostly presence of the poet – who spent blissful years there, transported by the fumes of opium. Last but not least, through its support to the exhibition, Maison CHANEL celebrated the historical friendship between Cocteau and Gabrielle Chanel – whose villa La Pausa was just few kilometers away.
